Best Wine Bars in Ubud
Bacari – 20 wines by the glass!
Why do we love it?
Not only is Bacari Ubud’s first wine & tapas bar, it also happens to serve the longest wine by the glass list in the town. We are talking 20 pours using the state of the art Coravin (so they never open the bottle and hence keep the wines fresh!). But what we love the most about Bacari is the casual yet chic setting with a non pretentious vibe – the wine book is extensive with detailed information on all the wines (often with wit and tongue in cheek recommendations). Guests here are encouraged to pick the different wines by the glass as opposed to the usual practice of selling by the bottle. Pair this with a ridiculously delicious tapas menu while sitting and people watching and you are in for a treat during your stay in Ubud. The industrial warehouse meets modern tropical decor i s also home t o some quirky artwork from local artists.
What to order?
Plenty of international wines to choose from depending on your preference but it’s their tapas menu that we highly recommend trying – the pan grilled halloumi, the chicken ‘kaali mirch’ skewers and the burrata sourdough are the standouts. And if wine is not what you are feeling that day, the cocktail list is impressive with a focus on using premium spirits for their classics and modern classics. Visit them in the day as they turn into Tucky – a specialty coffee & brunch spot.
Average Spend per person per glass: From IDR 125.000 ++
Location: Jl. Goutama No.15, Ubud, Kecamatan Ubud, Kabupaten Gianyar, Bali 80571

Ideal spot for people watching with a drink b y your side.
Belle – wine & grazing boards.
Why do we love it?
Belle Wine Bar is the perfect pit stop after your shopping spree along the Jalan Monkey Forest. Inspired by the local Parisian wine bars, this charming space makes a great destination for a glass of wine or few with what has to be the one of the best grazing boards in Ubud. Walk into Belle late afternoon and you will be greeted by a friendly team and the owner who is always happy to recommend some of his favourites and keep you looked after during your stay. Sit outdoors next to the wine barrels or indoors along the high tables and you will sure feel like you are back in Paris.
What to Order?
Our favourite is the Whispering Angel Rosé but we don’t mind if you are a little more adventurous and want to try some from the local wineries – yes! Bali does have its own wineries and Belle takes pride in working with local wine makers and artisanal partners. And no matter what glass / bottle you choose, we highly suggest trying one of their thoughtfully curated grazing boards.
Average Spend per person per glass: From IDR 125.000 ++
Location: Jl. Monkey Forest, Ubud, Kecamatan Ubud, Kabupaten Gianyar, Bali 80571

Wine and cheese? Belle i s the place to visit.
Restaurants in Ubud with a great Wine List
The list below includes some of the best restaurants in Ubud. And while they are known for distinct cuisines and dining experiences, they also have some of the best wine list in Ubud that one must try.
Aperitif – Fine dining with a wine cellar for the ages.
Why do we love it?
Aperitif’s borderless cuisine is a testament to creativity and finesse. And while you are in for a treat with their 7 course degustation menu, we highly recommend going for their wine program. The fine dining restaurant has one of the most impressive wine cellars in all of Indonesia with diversity and depth no matter the grape or the terroir.
What to Order?
The wine pairing goes best with the degustation menu and their sommeliers curate the perfect list based on the menu. But if you know what you are after then the 17 wines by the glass will give you plenty of options to choose from.
Average Spend per person per glass: From IDR 180.000 ++
Location: Br. Nagi, Jl. Lanyahan, Petulu, Kecamatan Ubud, Kabupaten Gianyar, Bali 80571

We strongly suggest going for their wine pairing with their tasting menu.
2 Bulan – Thai & somewhat Thai
Why do we love it?
Thai food & wines !? Contrary to what you’re thinking, Thai food is one of those cuisines that when paired right, makes the perfect partner in crime for wines. And what we love the most about one of the best Thai restaurants in Ubud is their wine list that has a small but diverse list of crisp & dry whites, light & fruity reds and an adventurous natural wine list.
What to order?
The food menu at 2 Bulan focusses on regional thai flavours with some non thai techniques and ingredients (somewhat Thai as they call it). If you are coming for the natural wines, we highly recommend trying their Skin Contact and Pet Nats with their Thai curries and noodles. For a more familiar pour, we suggest the gamay noir with any of their grilled appetisers.
Average Spend per person per glass: From IDR 125.000 ++
Location: Jl. Nyuh Bulan, Mas, Kecamatan Ubud, Kabupaten Gianyar, Bali 80571

Natural Wines & Thai inspired cocktails – one of the best Thai restaurants in Ubud.
Galle Club – Sri Lankan & Coastal Indian
Why do we love it?
Step into Galle Club and you will be transported to the periodic charm of a bygone Sri Lankan era. The restaurant serving Sri Lankan cuisine and South Indian dishes also serves a well curated wine list featuring mostly medium to full body reds as well as balanced and dry whites. The 10 wines by the glass are served by Coravin and we strongly recommended getting in early for a pre dinner glass while overlooking the charming happenings of the Nyuh Kuning village.
What to order?
Start with a crisp glass of Cortese or a bottle of Chablis with the appetisers before diving into the mains that pair best with bold , fruity reds. There are 4 red wines by the glass to choose from and all reds on the menu are also served via carafe.
Average Spend per person per glass: From IDR 125.000 ++
Location: Jl. Nyuh Gading No.2, Mas, Kecamatan Ubud, Kabupaten Gianyar, Bali 80571

Highly recommend sipping your wines b y their outdoor seating to soak up the Ubud mood.
Room 4 Dessert – the best for wine degustation
Why do we love it?
Unless you are living (or eating / drinking) under a rock, chances are you have heard of Room 4 Dessert: the award winning / netflix featuring fine dining restaurant that is infamous for serving a multisensory tasting menu. But word on the street is that their natural wine list and wine pairing with their seasonal menu is a real treat! The wine list is dynamic, ever evolving and unrestrained – just like the nature of the natural wines themselves and if you are not in the mood for guzzling a few glasses, their bar will happily pour you a wine of choice.
What to order?
Natural Wines are the favourites here. If you can, go for all five pours by the glass. Our favourite from the recent visit was a Spanish blend for Reds, a South African orange / skin contact and any house white they have on offer.
Average Spend per person per glass: From IDR 170.000 ++
Location: Jl. Raya Sanggingan, Kedewatan, Kecamatan Ubud, Kabupaten Gianyar, Bali 80561
