Ubud is better known for its dining than its nightlife. But over the years a small number of bars have carved out a clear identity of their own. From specialty wine and cocktail bars to restaurants with carefully considered beverage programs, Ubud now offers a range of destinations for those who appreciate quality drinks paired with good company and food.
Rather than ranking venues, this guide highlights best bars and bar-centric restaurant experiences in Ubud with each offering a distinct way to enjoy a drink in town.
Not every establishment that serves drinks functions as a bar in the way most guests imagine. In Ubud, the most notable bars tend to share a few qualities:
- A clear identity (cocktail-led, wine-led, or pairing-focused)
- A thoughtful drink list, whether spirits, wine, or both
- Knowledgeable and attentive service
- A setting suited to relaxed, social evenings
- Opportunities to explore drinks, not just order them
With that in mind, here are some of the most noteworthy places to enjoy drinks in Ubud.
Wine & Cocktail-Led Bars
Bacari – Wine, Cocktails & Tapas Bar
Why do we love it?
Bacari is a wine and cocktail bar that balances an extensive wine-by-the-glass program with a confident, classic cocktail selection and a tapas menu that encourages long stays and intimate conversations. The 20 wines by the glass program is served by the coravin, ensuring the quality of the wines is never compromised. The intimate 22 seater is located on the charming Goutama street and an early evening drink makes it the ideal spot for a pre-dinner aperitivo while people-watching.
What to Order?
The hidden gems are the Fantini Montepulciano (Red) and the Serafino Gavi (White). The cocktail menu is exclusively made of premium spirits and the Bacari Negroni is a crowd favourite. Our go to cocktail is the Bacari Martini. Must order tapas dishes are the Sourdough & Burrata and Chicken Skewers.
Location: Jl. Goutama No.15, Ubud, Kecamatan Ubud, Kabupaten Gianyar, Bali 80571
Average Spend per person: IDR 300.000 ++

Bacari’s tapas menu packs big & bold flavours.
Jati – Best for a sunset drink.
Why do we love it?
The setting – no walls, lush palm trees and the sound of a river stream that flows below you while you enjoy semi panoramic views of the Sayan Valley. Jati at Four Seasons, Ubud is relaxed and intimate.
What to Order?
The Bee Sting, a spicy tequila based cocktail is a must order but I always go for their Boulevardier. Definitely a place to drop in prior to a sunset or a tipple post lunch at their Riverside Cafe.
Location: Sayan, Ubud, Gianyar Regency, Bali 80571
Average Spend per person: IDR 400.000 ++

Get in pre sunset for the best views at Jati.
Kawi – Ingredient led Cocktails
Why do we love it?
Kawi is a bar built for bartenders by bartenders. The intimate and minimal decor is an ideal contrast to a bold ingredient driven cocktail philosophy. Each cocktail highlights regional ingredients from Bali and represent the artisanal spirits Bali is known for. The bar leans into experimental drinks and presentation, making it a compelling stop for lovers of modern mixology.
What to Order?
Jeruk, Pandan, Teh, Sereh, Timun, Kayu Manis, Tomat, Santan, Pisang. Okay that’s half their menu. But my all time favourite is the Kecombaran – pickled ginger flower with a really good quality Arak.
Location: Jl. Raya Lungsiakan, Kedewatan, Kecamatan Ubud, Kabupaten Gianyar, Bali
Average Spend per person: IDR 400.000 ++

Best spot for a solo date.
Night Rooster – Contemporary Cocktail Speakeasy
Why do we love it?
Night Rooster is known for its creative, contemporary cocktails and a menu that often highlights house-made ingredients, infusions, and modern techniques. Its approach attracts guests interested in innovative drinking experiences, with an emphasis on detail and craft.
What to Order?
Our go to is Kakap, a tart Gin based drink as well as Ashes, the only cocktail that has stayed on their menu since they reopened their doors back in 2022. The Oxtail croquette is a must order no matter what you are drinking.
Location: Jl. Goutama Sel. No.5, Ubud, Kecamatan Ubud, Kabupaten Gianyar, Bali 80571
Average Spend per person: IDR 300.000 ++

Down the street from Bacari and is ideal for bar hopping.
Pinstripe – Energetic Cocktail Spot
Why do we love it?
Pinstripe brings a more energetic style to Ubud’s bar scene. Its cocktail program leans toward bold flavours and playful combinations, often served in a livelier environment than what is typical for Ubud. This place is a homage to the good old times. Vintage decor, a walk-in humidor for cigar lovers and a drinks list that’s innovative yet nostalgic. A unique cocktail list that is inspired by the fashionable 1920s and their own signatures.
What to Order?
The go to drink is the 24K Carajillo, a bitter, chocolaty and smoky take on the Carajillo. Try the Martini flight for a slightly headier foray.
Location: Br. Nagi, Jl. Lanyahan, Petulu, Kecamatan Ubud, Kabupaten Gianyar, Bali 80571
Average Spend per person: IDR 400.000 ++

Great Cigar selection to go with your nightcap.
Restaurant Bars with Strong Drink Programs
2 Bulan – Thai Cuisine with Natural Wines
2 Bulan pairs its Thai-inspired menu with a wine list that leans into crisp, lighter styles and natural wines. Its approach to wine is smaller in scale but distinctive in character, often appealing to guests who enjoy wines that are expressive and pair well with spice and acidity. The Makrut cocktail is what we have seen at almost every table and for the wine lovers looking to experiment, we suggest any of their skin contact wines.
Galle Club – Sri Lankan inspired Cocktails
Galle Club is known for bold Sri Lankan and South Indian cuisine, and its beverage list has been curated with care to support those flavours. With a range of wines and cocktails available by the glass, including options served via Coravin, the bar component complements the food rather than acting as a separate experience. The ingredient cocktails are a must try, especially the Puli (tamarind) or Annasi (pineapple).
Locavore NXT – Experimental Drinks
Locavore NXT continues the legacy of Locavore’s culinary innovation, and its drinks program reflects that same commitment to quality and exploration. While not a traditional “bar,” Locavore NXT offers cocktails and wine pairings that are designed to harmonise with its progressive menu.
Final Thoughts
Ubud’s approach to bars and drinking destinations is distinctive. It’s oriented more toward quality, pairing, and conversation than noise or late-night crowds. Whether you’re interested in crafted cocktails, wine by the glass, natural styles, or thoughtfully paired drinks with food, these venues offer a range of experiences worth exploring.
For those who enjoy drinks as part of a deliberate, engaged evening, Ubud’s bar scene rewards a slower, more thoughtful approach.
